Danny Kane is an OFC/NZF B Licensed Football Coach based in Christchurch, New Zealand specializing in 1-to-1 and group coaching for players of all ages.
Playing Career
Danny is an experienced Irish footballer who brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role as a football coach in Christchurch. Danny has enjoyed a diverse playing career that has spanned several top-tier teams, including Huddersfield Town, Cork City, AFC Fylde, and Sligo Rovers. Known for his defensive prowess, Danny’s career began in the youth system of Huddersfield Town, where he made notable contributions to their U18 and U21 sides, winning multiple league titles.
At international level, Danny represented the Republic of Ireland at every age group from U15 to U21, including the UEFA European Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 Championships. He was named the FAI Under-17 International Player of the Year in 2014.
Now playing for Cashmere Technical in New Zealand, Danny's extensive experience across both English and Irish football gives him a unique perspective on player development and tactical awareness. Through his football coaching in Christchurch, Danny is eager to pass on his knowledge of professional football to the next generation of players.

Coaching
Danny is a football coach based in Christchurch, with a strong passion for developing football players, boys and girls, across various age groups and abilities. Over the past two years, Danny has coached the Cashmere Technical Football Club U17 and U14 Boys Academy teams, honing his skills and knowledge while working with some of the region’s most promising players. Building on this experience, Danny has recently taken on the role of Director of Football at Waimak United Football Club, where he is excited to make a significant impact on the growth of Canterbury football and further contribute to the development of football players throughout Canterbury.
In addition to his club roles, Danny runs his own football coaching business, DK Football Coaching, where he offers one-on-one and small group football training in Christchurch. Any personalised coaching Danny provides is intended to supplement, not replace, club or team training. His approach is centred on helping players of all skill levels reach their full potential. Whether working with beginners or more advanced players, Danny focuses on creating a supportive and enjoyable environment where individuals can develop their football skills while having fun. His coaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that every player has the ability to grow, and he strives to inspire players to give their best both on and off the field.
Danny holds an FA (Football Association) Level 2 Coaching Licence and a UEFA C Licence, credentials he earned during his time coaching in the UK and Ireland. More recently, he completed his OFC/NZF B Coaching Licence, further demonstrating his dedication to professional development and his commitment to supporting the growth of football in New Zealand. With these qualifications, Danny is well-equipped to guide players through their football journey and create a supportive and rewarding environment for the growth of Christchurch football.
